Crowborough AFC 3-1 Hastings United

An entertaining affair saw the Crows come out on top as eventual winners completing the comeback to see it finish 3-1.

After a cagey opening 10 minutes Hastings opened the scoring 13 minutes in following a free kick which the Crows just couldn’t clear. It didn’t take too long for Crowborough to start establishing a foothold in the game and 30 minutes in Rushy scored his first of the match to fire his team level. An intense rest of the half followed with both teams having chances to take the lead but the score was level at half time with both teams picking up bookings along the way. Only two minutes into the second half a defensive error by Hastings allowed Rushy an easy shot for his second of the game putting the Crows ahead for the first time in the match. The rest of the second half was a scrappy affair with several more cards handed out along the way but the Crows dug deep and did not give Hastings much in the way of clear cut chances. Following a corner in the dying minutes of added time the Hastings keeper went up to join his team looking for the late equaliser, however following a quick counter he was forced into a foul in the box which saw him sent off and a penalty awarded to the Crows. Rushy cooly slotted it away in the 96th minute to cement a hard fought 3-1 victory for newly promoted Crowborough and to claim his first hat-trick of the season.

This result sees Crowborough move up to 13th in the table on six points, one place above Hastings who move down to 14th with four points.
